This event is scheduled for Sunday June 23rd, 2024 at our farm in McElmo Canyon and includes morning coffee with cookies and our sourdough morning buns prior to a field walk that takes participants into the beautiful world of grains on our farm. Participants will learn about heritage grains including durum, rye, barley, oats, millets, and heirloom corn and how we rotate, companion plant, and use these crops in our culinary work. Tastings will extend the visual experience and will enable a deeper understanding of flavor and nutrition and how diversity in the field translates to diversity in the kitchen and our diets. Participants will also be able to make a grain bundle to bring home for decorative purposes.

Preparation: Bring water, wear long pants and long sleeve shirt, hat, sunscreen, sun glasses. good walking shoes (closed toe, no flip flops!)
