Dragon’s Claw Millet (Eleusine coracana)
Finger millets were probably first domesticated in the dry eastern highlands of Africa 5000 years ago and from there spread to India where the crop is known as Ragi. Finger millets are high in calcium, zinc, iron, dietary fiber, phytates and protein and are commonly used for porridge, soups, flour, pudding, cakes and beer. It is a fast maturing and drought hardy plant, nicely adapted to the Southwestern United States. We originally sourced this variety from Adaptive Seeds in Oregon. Grows to 15-18” in height and is less susceptible to birds than other millets. Plant spacing 2-4”. Grown by Pueblo Seed. Certified Organic. 90 days
