Chile de Aqua is an heirloom pepper from the central valleys of Oaxaca, Mexico which is renowned for its complex flavors and culinary versatility. Commonly used fresh in salsas as well as mole sauces and for rellenos. It has a medium spice level (~4,000 scovilles) and a distinctive citrus-like flavor. Fruits grow up upwards on the plant and are 5-6" long with broad shoulders with semi-thick flesh, tapering to blunt or pointed tips. Peppers turn from pale green to orange to red. Plant spacing 12-14". 65 days from transplants. Grown by Pueblo Seed. Certified organic.
