Heirloom flour corn from the heart of the San Miguel del Vado Land Grant. This area, including Pecos Pueblo, was a long-standing trade center along the upper Pecos River that connected plains tribes, more western tribes, and the Spanish. Many strains of Maíz Concho are still grown throughout northern New Mexico and Southern Colorado and they vary slightly, depending on elevation. All are incredible flour corns for posolé, tortillas, tamales, Chicos and more! This variety has been grown by the Gallegos and Baca families along the Pecos for many years and now by us in McElmo Canyon. Plant spacing 10”. 90 days for roasting, 110 dry. Grown by Pueblo Seed. Certified Organic.
